Biographical statement

I live in Randolph with my mom and dad and a younger sister and older brother. I am in an animal welfare club after school. I would love to teach art in the future. I have already planned going to Massasoit for two years then transferring credit to Mass Art.

What BHR has done for you

BHR is able to teach me skills that no other schools were able to provide. Because of Blue Hills, I am sure that I love art and that it is my passion because I was able to experience it fully while learning.

Why you came to BHR instead of your local high school

I didn't want to go to a local school because I would be doing the same thing every week and every day. With Blue Hills, I am able to learn something I love.

A quotation that inspires you, or that you live by

“A bone heals, a bruise fades, but art is forever.” - Otep Shamaya

No matter what type of art it may be, it can truly inspire a person to do more and this can impact them for a lifetime.

Your favorite book or movie

My favorite book is “Fangirl” only because it was the first book I read. I have a very difficult time when it comes to reading and “Fangirl” was the first book that I read without any help.

Best advice you ever received from a teacher/parent/family member/friend

The best advice given to me was by my Mom: “Instead of being the majority of people, why not make a change to stop the complaints?”

Advice you would give to a Grade 8 student applying to BHR

My best advice would be to tell students applying to Blue Hills would be take advantages of what the school gives you take learning opportunities that are given to you.

Teacher or faculty member at BHR who has helped or inspired you the most

Mrs. Murphy, my DVC teacher, inspired me to get up and take the opportunities I can get while they are still there to educate myself now instead continuously waiting.

Who is your hero

My hero is Otep Shamaya. She is a metal singer, however, still an artist. She has inspired me to keep doing what I love today. No matter what others say, it's best not to let them pull you down.

Most memorable moment at BHR

My most memorable moment at Blue Hills is recent, when we got to see Scott Tingle in space. The reason why is because he dreamed big and he didn't give up, he succeeded and was able to become an astronaut. Knowing that Blue Hills helped along the way gives me hope for the future.
