The entire Blue Hills Regional Technical School community extends its deepest sympathy to Director of Admissions Marybeth Joyce and her family on the loss of her father, Mr. Festus Joyce, a beloved retired BHR teacher and longtime District School Committee member from Milton. ‘
Fess enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His goodness, innate sense of decency and fair play and gentlemanly demeanor elevated all those around him so they, too, could aspire to be better people, more effective professionals and upstanding members of the community. He represented the true essence of kindness and compassion. He also cared tremendously about Blue Hills and all of its students, tirelessly advocating for us.
Superintendent-Director James P. Quaglia writes, “Blue Hills Regional was the fortunate recipient of his many talents, time and energy. He loved this place, each of us, and what we do as if it were another child of his own. In my opinion he was one of the most positive and supportive people to ever grace this district. He gave so much to Blue Hills, even if just simple encouragement at the right time. We can all learn something from the life of such a good and dedicated teacher, mentor, colleague and friend. On behalf of the entire district, including the District School Committee, Administration and all staff, I extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences during this time, and an endless thank you for all he has done for us.”
